Angelica Estes-Lebrun
2020 Nominee
Health & Wellness
Clinical Lung Cancer Screening Nurse Navigator
Central Maine Medical Center
Nominator’s Comments:
“Angelica has been running the Early Lung Cancer Screening Program as a Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator at Central Maine Medical Center since 2017. She has worked amazingly hard and has grown the program from a population of 300 patients to over 1,000 within 3 years and has passionately dedicated herself to the community’s health and wellness with regard to tobacco cessation and detection of early lung cancer. She works tirelessly to ensure patients receive proper care from the moment a referral is submitted by a provider to the day she delivers patients their lung scan results and ensure they receive the optimal care they need for any potential findings. She loves her job, the patients she serves and it shows with the work she accomplishes daily. I am proud of my wife for serving her community and making such an impact all the while going to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. She has recently graduated and will be taking on a new role in the CMMC system as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her love will always lie with preventative medicine such as Lung Cancer screening and she hopes to continue helping the community she serves for many years to come. Ang is an active member of the American Nurses Association, Theta at Large Sigma Theta Tau through Simmons University and Kappa Zeta At Large Sigma Theta Tau through Maine Medical Center. She has been active in many organizations in the community to raise money for special events including numerous road races and donations for families in need. She is young, beautiful, courageous and has infinite ideas of ways she can give back to those around her. I strongly nominate Ang for this award and can not wait to see what she has in store for her next journey.” R. Lebrun, Greene, Maine
