Maria is an innovative educator and leader at Central Maine Community College, known for transforming traditional learning into hands-on, immersive experiences. She founded the Global Classroom program, which allows students to study international business environments and then travel abroad for real-world exposure—a testament to her creativity, determination, and commitment to student growth. Her impact has earned her recognition as the 2024–25 Faculty Member of the Year.
Passionate about meaningful, applied learning, Maria excels at mentoring students through projects like social media campaigns and product reintroductions, helping them build skills, confidence, and curiosity. She finds her greatest fulfillment in watching students expand their perspectives and engage with new ideas.
Maria’s work also reflects her deep commitment to the Androscoggin community. By connecting local learners to global experiences, she strengthens the region’s culture of education, awareness, and opportunity—showing how rooted, community-focused institutions can open pathways to a wider world.
