Huguette “Sarah” Kenda Misenga brings extensive experience in business, human resources, travel services, non-profit leadership, and special projects to her work in Lewiston. With advanced training in office and business management, she has led high-profile events internationally, including conferences in South Africa and projects for the UN on behalf of the Congolese government. In her role with the City of Lewiston, Sarah administers more than 15 programs through the Economic and Community Development office and serves as a vital liaison among city departments, stakeholders, businesses, and residents. Her multilingual skills and commitment to inclusivity have strengthened community engagement, opened doors for diverse populations, and supported the successful launch of initiatives such as the Lewiston-Auburn Balloon Festival volunteer program.

Sarah’s career has been shaped by her passion for people, communication, and creating meaningful experiences. She began her professional journey in hospitality, where she learned the value of empathy, attentiveness, and adaptability—skills that continue to guide her business and leadership approach. She is also a seasoned entrepreneur, having founded RUEDESLEY Travel, which combined event management and travel services, including high-profile government projects. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys exploring the world—having visited 45 countries and 18 U.S. states—with a special focus on sharing these adventures with her children and mother. She also treasures her cultural roots, embracing music, dance, and celebrations with friends and family as essential ways to connect and remain grounded.
