On behalf of city management, I am honored to nominate Kelsey Earle for the Uplift LA Finest Under 40 Award in the Best in Civic and Municipal Services category. Kelsey’s remarkable commitment to the City of Auburn has fundamentally transformed our administrative and financial operations, demonstrating her exceptional dedication and aptitude for public service.
Since joining the City of Auburn in 2017 as a License Specialist and Deputy Clerk, Kelsey has swiftly climbed the ranks, eagerly taking on vital roles such as Executive Assistant to the City Manager, Deputy Finance Director and Tax Collector, and Director of Administrative Services. In February 2024, she was appointed Director of the City’s Finance Department. Each position she has held exemplifies her unwavering work ethic and passion for making a difference in our community.
Kelsey has not only excelled in her financial responsibilities but has also made significant strides in enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction. She spearheaded a comprehensive city-wide onboarding program for new employees, fostering a sense of belonging and community within our organization. Her leadership extends beyond her direct responsibilities; as co-chair of the Community Service Team, she encourages civic involvement and team-building initiatives that resonate throughout our community.
Kelsey also gives back to her profession as a member of the Small Government Advisory Board for the Government Finance Officers Association and serves as a mentor in the Women’s Public Finance Network. Her commitment to public service is further evident in her extensive volunteer work, including five years on the Income Council for the United Way of Androscoggin County and her current position on their Board. Additionally, she contributes her expertise as a Finance Committee Member for the Promise Early Education Center and is an active member of the Parent-Teacher Organization for RSU 16. Most recently, she dedicated her vacation time to volunteer with her father for the Lovell Lions Club, further demonstrating her deep-rooted commitment to community service.
Kelsey is a proud graduate of Edward Little High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Arts & Humanities from the University of Southern Maine and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Maine at Augusta. She is also a Certified Tax Collector and Treasurer, further solidifying her professional qualifications.
Outside her professional and volunteer endeavors, Kelsey treasures time with her family. This balance in her life speaks to her well-rounded character and unwavering dedication to both her community and personal values.
