Sam Boss

2017 Nominee

Emerging Leaders

Assistant Director of Community-Engaged Learning and Research

Bates College's Harward Center for Community Partnerships

Nominator’s Comments:
“Sam is a native Mainer who returned to the state two years ago after graduate school. Just couldn’t stay away! He and his family have settled in Auburn, and Sam is infusing fresh energy and ideas into the work of the Harward Center for Community Partnerships at Bates, where he is assistant director of community-engaged learning and research. In just two years time Sam is making a huge impact in our community. He serves on the boards of the Androscoggin Literacy Volunteers, the Stanton Bird Club, and Maine Community Integration. He has also been on the planning committee for Museum L-A’s Maine Innovation Expo for the past year. Most recently, he is helping to develop a leadership program for boys in the YWCA’s afterschool program. In addition, Sam serves on our community’s Public Health Stakeholders group and on the New Mainers’ Community Collaborative’s language access subcommittee. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, baking, gardening, and being a dad.”
