A graduate of Edward Little High School, Shadia pursued higher education at Emmanuel College in Boston, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and pre-law. This strong foundation in both global affairs and legal studies highlights her drive to engage in meaningful societal change. Now, she is set to continue her academic journey at Maine Law School, where she will pursue a master’s degree. This next step in her career reflects her commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills to serve her community and beyond.

What truly sets Shadia apart is her long-standing dedication to volunteerism. She began volunteering at just 11 years old, giving her over a decade of experience in service to others. Shadia has contributed to numerous organizations, including the Maine People’s Alliance, Healthy Androscoggin, Atlantic Global Aid, and Maine Community Integration. These roles allowed her to work in a variety of capacities, from grassroots advocacy and public health initiatives to global aid efforts and immigrant integration. Her work reflects an unwavering commitment to uplifting marginalized voices, promoting health equity, and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Shadia’s leadership within these organizations demonstrates her ability to inspire and mobilize others. Her involvement with Maine Community Integration, for example, highlights her understanding of the importance of community-based support for immigrants and her passion for inclusion. Additionally, her work with Atlantic Global Aid shows a global perspective, underscoring her focus on international collaboration and aid.
