“Sherie is an undoubted Local Hero as a committed advocate for equitable food systems in Lewiston-Auburn. For the past 15 years at the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, Sherie has been integral to the success of many LA landmark local food and food access programs including the Lewiston Farmers’ Market, the St. Mary’s Food Pantry, and the innovative Good Food Bus. Sherie is also committed to land access and social justice; she serves on the board for Land In Common community land trust, and also as a core member of the Central Maine chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice. Sherie was also a founding member of what became the RAISE-Op Housing Cooperative. Sherie, with her partner, now own a home in Lewiston.
