Kelly Colbath

Kelly Colbath joined New Beginnings in November of 2022, hitting the ground running as the Prevention and Training Coordinator providing skills-based education to homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth to help increase knowledge and reduce harm from a variety of risk behaviors. Kelly collaborates closely with her team at New Beginnings to provide a variety of professional development opportunities to help ensure that young people who seek services are met with open, affirming, and competent care. Kelly is a passionate champion for L/A’s most vulnerable populations, serving as an Advocate for Safe Voices and High Fidelity Wraparound Case Manager with The Opportunity Alliance before joining New Beginnings. In her time at New Beginnings, Kelly has quickly formed strong relationships with our staff and youth, expertly modeling the New Beginnings Model of Care and linking youth with appropriate community resources to meet needs. She is a strong, empathetic leader, gracefully handling the most difficult of conversations with youth and community providers to provide support and plays a key role in propelling New Beginnings’ mission of fostering a community where all youth feel safe and valued. An asset to the New Beginnings team and L/A community, Kelly is an absolute pleasure to work with and I am honored to nominate her for Uplift LA’s Finest Under 40.
