Hawo Abdille

Nominator’s Comments:
“Hawo is an incredible young leader in our community. In her job at the Lewiston Public Schools, she works relentlessly to ensure that all students and families have equitable access to educational opportunities. She is a leader with the Lewistion School Community Integration Initiative, a project to increase parent and community involvement with the schools. Outside work, Hawo serves on many boards and committees, including the CDBG Committee, the Immigrant Taskforce, the YWCA board of directors, and many more. Hawo also works part-time for Community Concepts as a representative for the Community Hub. All of her work is directed at ensuring that the New Mainer community and everyone in Lewiston has equitable access to opportunities, resources, and success.”
