“Kristine grew up in Orono and moved to downtown Lewiston upon receiving her master’s degree in Human Nutrition with a concentration in Public Policy and Professional Advocacy from the University of Maine. Since then, she has exemplified the type of young person and professional that Uplift LA seeks to recruit to and retain in our community.
On a professional level, Kristine serves as a board member and as the Public Policy Coordinator for the Maine Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, an organization that she helped to rebuild from the ground up. She has worked as a Nutrition Educator at Healthy Sebasticook Valley, a Community Transformation Grant Coordinator at Community Concepts, and a Health and Wellness Coach at Occupational Medical Consulting. She is currently employed as a Clinical Dietitian by Metz Culinary Management at St. Mary’s Health System.
Kristine’s commitment and dedication to her clients is evident in her work, and her knowledge of community wellness is vast. She was recently recognized as Young Dietician of the Year for her “promotion of optimal health and nutrition status of the population.”
Kristine is intelligent, detail-oriented and passionate about the future of Lewiston-Auburn. She has the ability to bring people together and to build networks. She has served as the campaign manager for a competitive local state senate campaign, and ran her own race for the Ward 7 City Council seat in Lewiston. She is a graduate of Emerge Maine, a campaign training program for for women interested in serving in public office. She possesses humility and empathy for others, is reliable and continuously follows-through – all qualities essential to moving a community forward. She is a member of the inaugural class of the Tip L/A Leader Development Program and was recently elected Vice President of the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Central Maine.”
