Maria D’Auria

I am writing to nominate Maria D’Auria for the Finest Under 40 Award in the area of Education. I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Maria at Central Maine Community College and have witnessed her remarkable growth, from her work in Learning and Advising, to her role as Director of Admission, and now as a full-time faculty member in the Business Programs.

Maria’s impact is best captured by one of her students, who said, “She is so kind, young, and relevant; I love her class.” This is just one of many similar comments I have heard from her students. Maria has shared with me her commitment to avoiding traditional lecture-based teaching, opting instead for interactive, hands-on projects. For example, she has her students create and film real social media marketing posts and design marketing campaigns to bring back products from the past.

Maria’s innovative approach to education and her genuine connection with students set her apart as a leader in her field. It is without reservation that I recommend Maria D’Auria for the Finest Under 40 Award in the area of Education.
