Signe Lynch
2022 Nominee
Best in MISSION-BASED ORGANIZATIONS
Education + Employment Support Program Coordinator
New Beginnings, Inc.
Signe joined New Beginnings in March of 2021 as an Education & Employment Support Specialist before being promoted to the role of Education & Employment Support Program Coordinator in November of 2021; before joining the team at New Beginnings, Signe served other L-A area organizations both personally and professionally, including The Center for Wisdom’s Women, St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, Lewiston Public Schools, the Maine Soccer Referee Association, and the Bates Environmental Coalition among others. During her time at New Beginnings, Signe has helped hundreds of young people in the L-A area (who are simultaneously working to reestablish stable living situations after experiencing, or while they are still experiencing, periods of houselessness) build the confidence to reconnect with educational systems, earn high school diplomas or equivalency degrees, apply to trade schools or other post-secondary education, or enter the workforce directly through assistance with resume building, interview preparation, or the acquisition of other soft-skills. Signe has also quickly proven that she is a capable, creative, and empathetic leader for members of her team. It is obvious to Signe’s colleagues and members of the larger community who have had an opportunity to interact with her that she embodies New Beginnings vision of a world in which all youth are safe and valued in their communities, and it is my absolute pleasure to nominate her for the honor of UpLift LA’s Finest Under 40.
