Melissa Sproul is a leader in raising funds to reduce hunger.

From a nominator, “She was recognized at an awards ceremony recently for leading Dirigo FCU to a 3rd place finish in total dollars raised for the ending hunger campaign in our area raising $31,000.00. Melissa led the fundraising efforts by holding a bowling tournament in Lewiston where all proceeds were donated to this cause. Melissa is a champion in this area and volunteers in many different capacities throughout the year to help raise money and community awareness.”

“My top cause is the Campaign for Ending Hunger,” said Melissa. “This is a campaign dedicated to raising funds and awareness to help end hunger in our own state. The fundraisers and partnerships the campaign participates in continues to grow each year, which helps make this campaign successful. It is an honor to be recognized for our efforts and to strive to raise more dollars in the future.”

As for life spent living, working and playing in the area, Melissa says,” The Lewiston/Auburn area is consistently improving. I love to see new businesses popping up and am always a supporter of the local happenings. The convenience of the services offered in the two cities is what people love and why I keep my business there.”

She continues, “I see two cities striving to be a welcoming, thriving community for its residents! I know that every community has its own challenges, but by sticking together and being involved, changes are possible.”
