Andrew Knight
2017 Nominee
Economic Development
Owner
The Agora Grand Event Center & Inn at the Agora
Nominator’s Comments:
“Andrew has taken a huge risk in converting a prominent closed church into an event center with attached Inn. The planning, energy, and resources that has gone into this venture show remarkable personal strength and perseverance. Andrew Knight is a creative thinker and entrepreneur who had a vision for re-purposing an old, vacant, and historical church complex into a beautiful event center. Although Andrew is “from away”, he quickly embraced the people of the community, and has restored the old St. Patrick’s church, chapel, and rectory into a place of elegance for life celebrations. Andrew also serves on the Lewiston Historical Board hoping to help developers understand the issues they run into trying to save these historical buildings. He has put his heart and soul into the Agora Grand and the Inn at the Agora, revitalizing historic buildings that may have been torn down in the future. He has become a contributing member of our community in a big way and deserves to be recognized as one of our 40 Under 40 this year.”
