Lead Educator

Maine State Museum

Nominator’s Comments:
“Kate Webber is a force of positive energy and she makes things happen. During her time working at Museum LA, Kate helped communicate the history of LA through exhibits and educational opportunities. She was also instrumental in the recent installation of a heritage discovery trail known as “Museum in the Streets” with interpretive signs spanning both sides of the Androscoggin River and both downtowns, providing people with the opportunity to learn about LA’s rich history and explore the Cities today. In addition to her work on this project on behalf of Museum LA, Kate played a major role in coordinating efforts between the partnership of 5 L/A organizations, including both Cities. She was the main point of contact for a group of Bates students that helped propel the project forward. Her impact on this project was critical. Kate currently works at the Maine State Museum as the Museum Education Specialist. She still lives in Lewiston and remains an involved and committed community member. Kate and her partner organize The Corner, a monthly live storytelling night in Lewiston/Auburn. So much can be created and processed during these storytelling sessions and the community is fortunate to have Kate and her partner guiding these unique events. Kate is an educator with the skills and drive to reach many people of all ages.” – S. Kruszewski, Auburn, Maine
